ESD & Pierre Invitational Champions. At the Pierre Invitational on Friday May 10, 2013 the Lady Gov Golf Team set 2 school records. Hallie Getz shot a season low round of 68 and the team score of 308 set another school record. Be sure to congratulate these young ladies when you see them. Their hard work, dedication and sense of fair play is an inspiration to us all.

Golf Cart Usage for Newly Seeded Fairways
After the flood of 2011 the first turf grasses seeded were a dormant seeding on the Driving Range, the Front Nine Fairways, but no Roughs in October and November of 2011. The seeding of the Back Nine, Tees and all Roughs came in the Spring of 2012, reseeding of the Front Nine in the Fall of 2012, and dormant reseeding of the Driving Range in November of 2012.
Please be aware that the age of the new seedlings ranges from 180 to 300 days old from germination versus 30 year old mature turf grass. In order for the turf grasses to establish and thicken, cart traffic on the fairways should be held to a minimum. Please keep carts out of the fairways and high use rough areas as much as possible to enhance the turf grass to grow.

Golf Rates, Passes, Range Plans and Lockers
Passes will be sold at City hall located at 222 East Dakota St. in the City of Pierre.
Click here for Rates and Member Categories. Customers may stop at City hall during regular business hours of 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Financing is available for those who wish to make payments over a six month period of time.
Range plans and lockers can be purchased at the clubhouse (not at City Hall).
Oahe Mens Golf Association News March 2013
The OMGA is excited to welcome all of its members and future members back to Hillsview Golf Course for the 2013 season. An initial organizational meeting will be held on April 3rd at the Hillsview Clubhouse at 5:30 pm. This will be to discuss the upcoming season, including the planned schedule for OMGA sponsored tournaments, the election of officers, the annual dues and expenditures and any other concerns any of the members may have. For information about this please contact the current vice-president Joe Villa at 280-9005 or leave a message with Carin or Larry at the golf course.
The tournaments planned for the OMGA this year include:

We encourage all members and prospective members to sign up for the OMGA and their SDGA/USGA handicaps by paying the $30 membership fee at the course. Handicaps will be used in all of the OMGA tournaments, as well as any SDGA tournaments that players choose to play. Carin Doyle-Hayn, the new Hillsview Course manager has agreed to collect those dues at the course desk, instead of using the old drop-box method. Applications and information regarding the memberships are available at the course. E-mails will be especially helpful this year when it comes to tournament schedules and tee-times. We can also expect the Hillsview Course website to be up-to-date this year, so dont hesitate to check out the latest course news on that site.
Carin Hayn Named Hillsview Club Pro
Mayor Laurie R. Gill announced today that
Carin Doyle-Hayn has been hired by the
City of Pierre as the new manager/head
golf professional at Hillsview municipal
golf course... Carin has been a member
of the PGA for 25 years and has achieved
the class A status as a golf
professional. Carin is from Pierre and
is an example of a home town person that
pursued her dream of becoming a
professional golfer and playing on the
PGA tour. She has great experience, not
only as a player, but as a manager of
golf operations having extensive
experience in hosting events such as the
annual San Juan Open in New Mexico which
fields over 60 professionals and 180
amateurs with the largest purse in the
state of New Mexico. said Gill.
